About Lois Ivancin Tavaf

Lois Ivancin Tavaf I discovered a knack for drawing when my kindergarten teacher praised me lavishly for drawing crayon people who actually looked like people, and the bird scribbles on the back of the paper were even more recognizable. I love to sketch on my IPad. I use it to digitally illustrate my stories, make personalized cards for family and friends, and sketch from the photographs I take. I've written three children's books - two were published as applications through StoryChimes. All three are available on Amazon - one about a tiny fish, another about parent/child separation, and the third about an 8 year old traveling from California to DC all alone. I am also a winner in The New Yorker 2012 Eustace Tilley contest. I write a daily blog about the differences between living on Capitol Hill and in Milwaukee, and incorporate my art, photographs, and web albums. I've displayed my digital images at the Library of Congress, where I work, and at the Clara Barton National Historic Site in Glen Echo. I also have a gallery wall of dog and cat images hanging at the Wagtime Shop on Capitol Hill across from the historic Navy Yard. Please check out my work and see if something interests you, as wall art, as a screen saver on your computer or mobile device, to send as a greeting card to celebrate a special occasion, or something we haven't thought of yet.
